Anne has studied and practiced karate since 1990 and is know a 5th Dan karate Instructor. A qualified coach with the Welsh Karate Association, and is CRB checked. Anne has experience of competition both at Kumite and Kata, her love of karate is kata , Anne has competed at club level and at international level for wado kai association in Europe and her greatest achievement was achieving a 3rd place in kata at the European and British Wado Kai Championships.

 

Annes husband Clyde Hughes instructs at the karate club, Clyde is a 5th Dan instructor and has practiced karate for over 30 years , in his younger days he has fought for his club winning numerous trophies, he has  fought for the welsh karate team, and on one occasion actualy fought the world karate champion in the british karate championships , so he has a wealth of experience at kumite.

 

Students have the best of both disciplines within the teachings of karate, Anne with her knowledge and experience of kata and Clyde with his knowledge and experience of kumite.  Ryan Hughes Whelan joined wales wado kai karate at the age of 9 after 9 years of consistent training and dedication he has achieved the rank of second Dan black belt. Ryan helps to coach the students at all the classes in the club, and is love of karate is kumite.       

WWKKA follows a strict code of practices in relation to child protection, anti bullying and equity policies.

 

The style of karate taught is Wado Kia which is traditional karate as taught in  japan.

A family club, with all ages welcomed, mums, dads and children, Our teaching is in a fun and safe environment.   Anne is an advanced hatha yoga teacher and yoga therapist so the stretching exercises taught in class are yoga based ensuring that the students get the full benefits from their stretching.
